Lovely Batik pieced by Mary-Ann

Simple pattern but very lovely quilt using beautiful batik fabrics.  First time customer Mary-Ann did an awesome job piecing this quilt and we aced the thread choice.  This is a great example of how the thread choice when doing an edge to edge can really compliment the quilt even with all that blank space.  I love it and better yet - Mary Ann loved it.

First Dear Jane - pieced by Lana W

Don't you just love firsts?  This is my first Dear Jane quilt and I can't believe the work that goes into piecing one of these quilts. First time customer Lana mentioned she worked on this quilt for approximately 4 years (on and off of course).   The quilt size is 89" x 89" and there are 13 small blocks across, 13 blocks down and then there are the spectacular wedge blocks.

The quilting is full custom with ditching around each and every block and a little of this and a little of that in each and every block. Lana choose what she wanted in the border and will cut around the border scallops and bind each scallop with bias binding to achieve the traditional Dear Jane scalloped finish. It was a real honor to work on this beautiful quilt and I enjoyed it immensely although I must admit I did have to dig deep to come up with enough variation.

Lana just picked up her quilt and I am very happy to say "she loved it"!

There were two layers of batting used - one layer cotton and one layer wool (which gives a wonderful definition to the quilting).  I also used Invisifil thread for the top and a polyester in the bottom - this combination worked amazingly well.

Tetris Quilt for Chris

Who knew?  Tetris is celebrating their 30th anniversary.  Well I'm not even sure I know what Tetris is, but Chris, Amy's teenage son seemed quite excited that mom had made him this awesome Tetris quilt.  They asked that I include the odd 30's design to commemorate this special anniversary.  My aim is too please!

Freehand edge to edge quilting with a few special designs thrown in. Hobbs 80/20 batting and a beautiful variegated thread - Silco by Wonderfil really added to the colorful nature of this fun quilt.

Chris came with mom to pick the quilt up and was very very pleased - how cool!  I Love My Job!

Lovely quilt by Lorraine

This lovely large quilt was passed on to me for quilting by a friend of the lady who made it - Lorraine.  Great quilt and I love the colors - sure hope Lorraine liked how I finished it.  A bit strange not meeting or hearing from the customer.
