Silk Brocade Throw by Elizabeth P

Wow,  I really love the look of the quilting on this beautiful silk brocade throw Elizabeth P brought for me to finish up.  Gorgeous fabrics that quilted up beautifully - for quilting I just did an allover freehand fern type design, a polyester thread to maintain the sheen and just Hobbs 80/20 batting.  Somehow the sparkle doesn't show as well in the photo, it really is an elegant throw.

Bright Cat Blocks by Nancy P

I absolutely love using some of these scrumptious bright variegated threads, especially on black fabric.  Nancy made this fun quilt for a friend's daughter - how lucky is she?   Awesome bright colors, wonderful fabric, and with the black borders it definitely is very very effective.  I think the bright variegated thread added another great element along with the soft and cuddly minky backing.

Super Generous Tanya

Tanya made this adorable baby quilt for a special friend who is having a baby.  Her friend lost her mom a few years back and Tanya has stepped up as a wonderful friend and very generous person she is.  I told you guys "I have the best customers in the world".  Am I right?

Freehand quilting featuring bubbles and stars.  We used Dream Puff batting which gives it a bit more loft and a wonderful light blue variegated thread.  Isn't it adorable?

Another Nancy - too funny!

I have to say, I've gone through most of my life not even knowing another Nancy.  In the past few years 2 Nancy's have become customers of mine and another Nancy I first met on a quilting forum has become a friend and is helping us out sewing together Victoria Quilt tops.  Isn't that too funny?

This quilt is from my most current customer Nancy P who just moved to Calgary not that long ago. Welcome!  Great job with the color choices on your quilt and the fabrics are super cool Nancy.

Freehand funky hearts and butterfly designs and gold polyester thread.  Nancy used Minky on the back giving this lovely quilt a nice snuggly feel.

Love Bird Lane - pieced by Gloria

Gloria put together this adorable applique quilt top called "Love Bird Lane".  I couldn't find the name of the designer but did find the block of the month is available from Hamel Fabrics at www.hamelsfabrics.com.

Gloria does some amazing applique work and gives me the honor and pleasure of finishing them up for her.  Each quilt she makes I am in awe of, beautiful work as usual Gloria.

Custom quilting on this beauty, with some feathers, piano keys, etc. etc..  Invisifil thread was used and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Kaffe Fassett Fabric lover Elizabeth

Elizabeth loves Kaffe Fassett's fabrics and I love seeing what she does with them.

I had a bit of fun doing some lite custom quilting (funky flowers) in the solid fabrics and freehand allover on the floral fabric.

Solid Triangle Beach Quilt by Julie

Lovely modern quilt Julie made for her daughter and soon to be son-in-law.  They were looking for a beach quilt and I think Julie nailed this one perfectly.

Julie loves my freehand large meander and requests this design on most of the quilts she brings to me. I think the design was perfect for this quilt along with a nice variegated 100% cotton thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.  They're going to love it Julie!

"Marquis" - Pieced by Kirsten

Kirsten made this lovely quilt for a girlfriend as a wedding gift.  How wonderful of her, she must be a very special friend warranting such an awesome gift.  Kirsten told me the pattern's name was "Marquis" by Monique Dillard. It would be interesting to know how many different fabrics Kirsten used.

Beautiful piecing, great color combination and a lot of work - nice job Kirsten.  Unfortunately the full shots I took did not turn out very clear - grrrrr!

Freehand feather swirl quilting design, 100% variegated cotton thread - Tutti by Wonderfil and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
