Perfect Fabric and Color Choices by Nancy N

Nancy N made this lovely lovely quilt as a gift for a special brother.  How awesome is that focal fabric?  Nancy did a great job coordinating and complimenting the fabrics making for a lovely quilt.  I think she mentioned the pattern is Square n Square.

Rolling Waves by Susan

Another amazing quilt made by Susan. She called this one Rolling Waves.  Check out the last photos, Susan is my customer who likes to add pizazz to her quilts by piecing the backings as well she's trying to made a dent in her stash.  Great job Susan!

Chelsea's adorable baby quilt.

Chelsea brought in this adorable baby quilt which will be a gift for a special little one.  The pattern is Crazy Eights by Bit's & Pieces.  Great fabric choices and Chelsea also used a soooo soft minky type fabric for the back in a very pale pink.

Susan is a very diversified quilter and it is always a wonderful surprise to see what she brings me.  This stunning red/white quilt is a perfect example. The combinations of red fabrics, all from her stash and the beautifully executed stars make for one gorgeous quilt.

Joint Effort T-Shirt Quilt

As many of you know my friend Maxine and I do custom t-shirt quilts on commission.  Max does the design and piecing, then it's turned over to me to do the quilting and binding (what a team)!   Mireille contacted me if we could put a quilt together for her daughter who is attending university in the US.  She picked it up the other day and was very pleased with the final product - hope her daughter likes it as much.

Well wishes for Newly Weds - by Tammy

My dear friend and customer Tammy in High River was asked by a neighbor to make a signature quilt for a newly wed couple.  Tammy came up with this awesome pattern and did am amazing job piecing it (as usual).  The colors are a bit off but they were peach and almost a wine color.  Tammy did a great job coordinating the colors and placed the signatures and well wishes in just the perfect locations.

The quilting is freehand swirls and I used a polyester peach thread trying not to obstruct the messages. What an amazing keepsake.

Grad Gift for Someone Special

Gail G pieced this wonderful gift for a friend's daughter and I had the privilege of finishing it up for them.  It's a surprise - shhhhhh! Great job ladies.

Freehand swirls with an odd heart here and there.

Plaid Twister Quilt by Bobbi

Bobbi made this lovely soft cozy quilt as a gift for her niece.  The pattern is twister and Bobbi used a nice variation of plaid fabrics complimented by the beige fabric for the inner and outer borders.  The beige is really a great contrast for the dark center blocks. The choice of backing is also perfect, another wonderful plaid.  I also love the small plaid border outlining the center twister block.  Great job Bobbi - your niece will love it.

Jelly Roll Batik by Michelle C

First time customer Michelle C made this beautiful quilt for her son and what a great job she did.

How popular are these jelly roll quilts becoming. Thanks to Jenny Doan of the Missoury Star Quilt Company, Fons and Porter and YouTube.   What a wonderful way to showcase many many beautiful fabrics.  I think these are amazing especially for those people that either do not have the time or just do not enjoy the process of choosing fabrics for their quilts. They definitely look like a lot of fun and I may just have to try one - maybe at retreat.  It's looking more and more like retreat should be 7 days instead of 3.

Freehand spiky swirl quilting design and Tutti 100% cotton variegated thread.

I Spy Quilt by Elaine

Elaine T made this sweet sweet I Spy Quilt as a gift for a grandson.  I would love to see the look on his face when he receives this special gift and starts to explore all the wonderful characters and different images Elaine included on this top.  A soft and cuddly minky type fabric was used on the back which showcases the quilting so nicely.

Freehand quilting.  A new design I found on utube features by APQS - not sure what name to give it yet with an occasional bubble thrown in here and there.  100% cotton variegated thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Beach Glass by Pat

This quilt is such a soft tranquil beauty called Beach Glass, pieced by Pat.  The number of wonderful soft batik fabrics used was amazing and the sashing and border fabric of a light linen look grey was the perfect choice.  Pat made this quilt for her only sister living in Nova Scotia and mentioned she also lives by the water. Such a wonderful gift.

Freehand swirl design using Mirage variegated thread which was absolutely the perfect choice. Pat commented the quilting design looked just like waves on the water.

Like Burgundy Wine - Gorgeous

I think this quilt is so elegant and I love love love the choice of fabrics, design and colors. Reminds me of burgundy wine and we call know how much I love my red wines.   Great job Nancy N - sorry I couldn't get a good photo of the whole quilt as the lights in my studio wanted to turn the off white fabrics yellow -  what the heck?

Freehand swirl design was perfect for this classy square n square design.

Modern Quilt for Hubby

Julie's hubby saw this very modern quilt in a magazine and mentioned to her he really liked the design, colors, etc.  What a gal - Julie hooped to it and whipped this beauty together in no time.  I know Julie mentioned this was either for Father's Day or for hubby's birthday and she had a challenge trying to make sure she could keep it a surprise.  Hubby's very lucky to have a wife like Julie and vise versa I'm sure.

Julie loves my freehand large meander and I admit that for this quilt the quilting design was spot on. Lovely 100% cotton variegated thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
