Another Awesome Christmas Gift - by Julie K

Julie K made this wonderful quilt for her daughter attending university in the states.  Now I have to say - Julie is a fairly new quilter and speaking from experience these t-shirt quilts are not the easiest quilts to put together.  Well let me tell you - Julie aced the construction (perfectly square and straight) and I'm in awe of the great job she did.  Although after saying that and over the last while getting to know Julie a bit more I can't say I'm really surprised.

Julie is my only customer that asks for stipple quilting and is always so appreciative whenever she receives her finished quilts.   Julie also used black minkie on the back making this such a warm and cozy quilt.

Jubilee Etchings by Maxine

Maxine gives me her quilts and always say's  - "ok do your magic".  Of course the quilter always wants to choose a design that will compliment the quilt - hmm - harder than you may think at times.

This lovely quilt had so much blank space that I tapped into my fill designs and used a combination of many.  The quilting is full custom work using a black poly thread, Hobbs 80/20 batting and many many hours.  Some of you may see this quilt again - keep a watch out for it.

Awesome children's quilts by Jackie K

Jackie must have a number of little people in her life at present or she's getting prepared stockpiling a few of these to have on hand when the occasion arises.  Hmm not a bad idea if I could find the time.

I do know Jackie's daughter just made her a proud grandma for the second time a couple of weeks ago.  Congratulations to everyone!

The quilting on these adorable quilts is all freehand, some soft swirls, some spiky swirls, daisies, hearts - you name it.  The "My Little Pony" quilt has lovely cuddly minkie on the back.  This one almost stayed here with me - aren't they all soooo sweet.   Nice work Jackie!

Christmas Throw by Sheila

Sheila made this lovely Christmas throw just for herself.  Now as most of us know - we don't often make quilts for ourselves - hmmm I wonder why that is???  Anyway good for you Sheila - lovely quilt and I'm sure it will look absolutely awesome draped over your chesterfield or love seat.

The quilting is freehand holly leaves, using a solid polyester red thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting. Oh yes - Sheila used soft and cozy minkie for the back.  Well after saying that maybe Sheila won't just use this beauty for decoration as the minkie makes it perfect to cuddle under.

Adorable Modern Baby Quilt - by Susan L

Love the design, love the fabric and colors and ok - I also love the quilting.  LOL   Susan made this adorable baby quilt as a gift - for whom I do not know.  I bet anything she told me but when Susan drops by we talk, and talk, and talk.  So how could I possibly remember everything we talk about.  "Right"?

The quilting on this cutie is a freehand spiky swirl design using scrumptious variegated thread - Tutti by Wonderfil.

This next photo is of the back - yes this is the Susan that always takes the extra time to add something special to the back - how wonderful.

"Super Hero - Christmas Quilt"

Amy made this awesome Super Hero quilt for her 13 year old son as a Christmas present.  I'm sure he will cherish is for many many years. Great job Amy!

I did freehand quilting on most of the quilt and then wrote corresponding words in the solid blocks as discussed with Amy prior to quilting it.  Turned out pretty good and was fun to do.

Wonderful Christmas gift for a daughter.

Gisele made this beautiful quilt as a Christmas gift for her daughter. The pattern in BQ by Debbie Bowles of Maple Island Quilts. What an awesome pattern to display those wonderful large print fabrics.  The fabrics Gisele chose are spot on for a young person and have a look at the backing - how cool is that?

Freehand quilting using a swirl/bubble effect - drawing from the fabric print.  I also used a soft mauve variegated thread - Tutti by Wonderfil and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

More Beautiful Place Mats by Doreen

I want to be on Doreen's gift list this year.  Look at the wonderful place mats she's made for the special people in her life.

Great choice of fabrics and color combinations - nice nice work Doreen.

Freehand quilting on both sets using awesome variegated thread by Wonderfil.

Grinch Quilt made by Laura M for her family!

I understand that this is the most current Grinch fabric and  Laura, with a bit of help from sister Julie made this adorable Grinch Christmas quilt for Laura's children.  I don't know Laura 1 quilt for 5 children - they'll have to pick straws to see who gets to cuddle with it when.

Love love love these Grinch fabrics.  Great work ladies!

For someone special on Mary's list!

I think quilts are the most wonderful gift ever and this one is no exception.  Mary made this beauty for her sister in Lethbridge.  I am so bad with patterns but I think Mary mentioned this is a Turning Twenty pattern.

The quilting is freehand swirls using a 100% cotton variegated thread - Tutti by Wonderfil. Hobbs batting and a wonderful cozy flannel for the back.
