Climbing Rose by Valerie

A very lovely lady, Joan from Innisfail sent this quilt to me for quilting and binding.  Valerie, Joan's granddaughter made this beauty (one of her first quilts) but Joan chose the pattern "Climbing Rose".  If I understood correctly this was a kit but wasn't given anymore information.    The black floral border fabric was such a great compliment to this beautiful soft yellow quilt and a very cozy minkie type fabric was used for the backing.  Great great job ladies

The quilting is a freehand leaf/swirl design using a green variegated cotton thread - Tutti by Wonderfil.  The batting is Hobbs 80/20.

Double Slice Layer Cake by Tanya

First time customer Tanya came to me with this lovely quilt called "Double Slice Layer Cake".  Tanya did a wonderful job putting all these awesome fabrics together.  Wow I don't even know how many different fabrics are actually in this quilt, quite a few. The off white, teaming with the black make for such a elegant combination.  Very nice Tanya.

The quilting is a freehand allover leaf/swirl design and the variegated grey to black thread - Mirage by Wonderfil really compliment this beauty.

Minnesota Chain - Full Custom Quilting

This lovely quilt was brought to me by customer Lisa K.  Lisa used these scruptious adorable 1930's fabric to make this quilt called "Minniapolis Chain".  I must admit I had not heard of this pattern previously and had to enlist some of my forum friends to help me come up with a design for this quilt.

The quilting is full custom with freehand feathers and a lot of ruler work.  Lisa picked up her quilt today and was extremely pleased with the outcome.  Quilter's Dream cotton batting was used, as well as Invisifil thread by Wonderfil.

Sea Glass - Tammy's wonderful gift!

This wonderful quilt was made by a lovely gal - Tammy from High River and she calls it "Sea Glass".  I've posted before of the special friendship Tammy has with Carol.  Carol is the amazing fabric artist from Saskachewan whom I've also had the pleasure of doing some quilting for over the past few years.

Carol's birthday was the beginning of February and Tammy made this beauty as a gift for her "best friend". Some of you may remember that I lost my best friend Lynn 3 years ago and it's still very fresh in my mind how close a girlfriend bond can be.  Carol and Tammy are both very special and take great care in hoaning their special bond - just as it should be.

Carol if you happen to read this blog, Happy Birthday my friend and I know you will cherish "Sea Glass" and your wonderful friendship with Tammy forever.

Tammy, you did an awesome job putting this quilt together - as usual.

More Beautiful Batiks

This quilt was brought in by first time customer Linda. The spiral design was chosen to off set the geometric design of this quilt adding some additional interest.  The quilting is an allover freehand spiral, the thread is Mirage by Wonderfil and the batting was a lovely wool.
