Yummy Bright Colorful Quilt - Freehand Quilting - Wool Batting

This delightfully bright and beautiful customer quilt just made me feel sooooo good as I was quilting it. The pattern is fairly simple but the colors are wonderfully yummy. It's also amazing how wool batting will define the quilting and make even an ordinary freehand design "pop". The thread used was Tutti (100% cotton variegated) by Wonderfil.

Jewels of Bali - Customer Custom Quilt

I love this quilt and if I remember correctly my customer Catherine mentioned that it was a Block of the Month at our local quilt store "Along Came Quilting" and is called "Jewels of Bali".

The quilting was all freehand with a lot of ruler work. The borders have freehand ferns in them to compliment the fabric.  It was so much fun trying to put something different in each block without doing too much.  I used wool batting and love the definition it give this quilt.  My thread of choice was Invisifil by Wonderfil.

Scrappy Pineapple - Freehand Bubbles

This colorful quilt was made by Rose.  Rose had stopped by the studio one day and noticed me working on a similar style quilt (most of you know how much I love love love my scraps and try to always have a scrappy project on the go).  Immediately falling in love with the pineapple blocks and admitting she had a few scraps in her own bin Rose went home and starting putting this quilt together.  Didn't it turn out wonderful.  I quilted an allover freehand bubble pattern, used Legacy 70/30 Eco batting and a great variegated thread - Tutti by Wonderfil.

Rose used the greatest flannel fabric on the back to compliment the funky feel of this work of art.

Very Traditional "Triple Irish Chain" - Custom Quilting

This quilt is a "Triple Irish Chain" made by Elizabeth as a gift for her mother in Hungary. For a new quilter Elizabeth is doing some fairly challenging quilts and doing an amazing job with the piecing.

Full custom quilting was requested for this quilt. Because of my love of traditional quilts I decided to go with the very traditional feather wreaths in the light blocks, concecritive circles in the small squares, swirls in the smaller border and feathers all around the quilt in the light brown border.  I used a fine thread Invisifil by Wonderfil for the top and bobbin. Warm and Natural batting was used.

Logan's Quilt

It's all finished including the binding and label - now to get it off in the mail.  I have been working on this quilt since before Christmas for one of my nephews little boys - Logan.  I had grandious ideas to have 2 others finished quickly to send off to Logan's brothers.  Long story short - I am still working on the second one and hopefully sometime within the next couple of months I'll have them finished and they can all have quilts made by Aunt Nancy.
